The Lead Installation Engineer has overall responsibility for the Installation & Construction (I&C) engineering activities across the Transport & Installation Package within projects, tenders and studies.
The Lead Installation Engineer is the key technical interface within the project, working alongside project management, to deliver the I&C engineering and ensure project requirements are met.
The role shall involve interfacing with project packages to review the installability of CLIENT or 3rd Party products, tooling and equipment, external interfacing with client for technical input/clarifications.
Overall SQDC responsibility and accountability for the readiness, preparation and execution ofallocated installation engineering activities.
Responsible for I&C Engineering performance monitoring of budgeted hours of their package, reporting their respective scope cost expenditureagainst progress.
Responsible for I&C Engineering schedule. Interface with project to review schedule andanticipate, assess and address change.Lead and coordinate Engineering and Operational (constructability, risk assessments, andReadiness) Reviews providing an independent review and installation engineering technical focalpoint for the engineering and methodologies proposed by installation teams.
Attend and support project Design Reviews and Product HAZIDs, ensuring installability of each product and tooling to be installed by the operations package.
Ensure best practice methodologies are adopted through lessons learned, new technologies and latest industry guidance, where applicable, to improve installation and operations execution.
Support Package Engineers & Global Sourcing and Procurement (GSP) to develop I&C related procurement plans.
Appoint resources for RFQ/ITB technical input and technical bid evaluatio nreviews for temporary installation aids and equipment.
Support team development and check-ins (including individual goals and objectives) through training, coaching and mentoring to the installation engineering team aligning with current CLIENT standards, processes and guidelines.
REQUIRED SKILLS
It is understood that the Contractor is expected to have all the skills required to perform the assignment, in particular:
*Education: Master’s degree or equivalent, in relevant engineering discipline
*Strong technical foundation in Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF) and vessel operations , including design related to installation and construction activities.
*Main experience required in Umbilical / Flexible Lay and Lifting operations, supported by project track record.
*Experience in risk assessment , mitigation management and management of change
*Professional experience of at least 8 years in offshore/subsea installation industry.
*Ability to lead a multi-discipline engineering team.Important: ability to teach and guide graduate engineer through project challenges.
*Fluent in English – clear verbal , written communcation. Portuguese is a plus.
*Ability to work as part of a team and interface with several internal departments, including the CLIENT global organization.
*IT software : Word, Excel, PowerPointOffshore training and certification (BOSIET) as required to attend offshore campaigns.
REQUIREMENTS
Perform main activities from CLIENT (Lisbon Portugal) premises. Occasional business trip and site assignment, upon project requirement. Attend vessel mobilisation and offshore campaigns.
