Location: Field – Onshore and Offshore
Purpose and primary assignment
To support the maintenance team in operational and technical activities, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of drilling rigs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Support and Maintenance:
 Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all hydraulic systems and related equipment, including well control equipment and drilling-related hydraulic systems.
 Conduct daily inspections to identify potential issues in hydraulic systems, ensuring timely repairs.
 Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment onboard drilling units.
 Develop and implement maintenance practices and standards to complement OEM recommendations or create new ones in their absence.
 Troubleshoot hydraulic systems without OEM information and recreate as-built drawings by inspecting installations.
 Establish and document maintenance practices and standards to ensure optimal equipment performance.
 Contribute to the development of maintenance budgets and long-term maintenance plans.
 Participate in rig upgrade projects, equipment installations, and major overhauls.

2. Data Analysis and Reporting:
 Utilize computer-assisted maintenance systems to monitor equipment performance and generate comprehensive reports.
 Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for hydraulic systems' reliability and efficiency.
 Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
 Prepare technical reports, including equipment failure analyses and improvement recommendations.

3. Professional Development and Leadership:
 Participate in and lead training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge of hydraulic systems.
 Stay updated with industry standards and advancements in hydraulic technology.
 Mentor and train junior technicians and crew members on hydraulic systems and maintenance practices.
 Coach and lead troubleshooting efforts, providing technical guidance to the team.

4. Collaboration and Communication
 Work closely with rig maintenance teams and HQ support to coordinate maintenance activities.
 Ensure effective communication with rig supervisors and rig management regarding equipment status and maintenance needs.
 Liaise with third-party vendors, contractors, and equipment manufacturers for specialized repairs and technical support.
 Participate in rig out of service periods planning, equipment overhauls and other major activities requiring hydraulic expertise.
5. Safety and Compliance
 Ensure compliance with all relevant safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
 Actively participate in and promote safety initiatives, including daily STOP observations and pre-job safety meetings.
 Implement and follow permit to work and isolation systems.
 Assist in preparing safety analysis for hazardous situations.
 Ensure environmental protection measures are followed.

Prerequisites & Attributes
 Education
o Engineering University degree or vocational training in technical discipline.
o Work experience complemented with technical certifications may be considered in lieu of formal education.
 Experience
o Minimum of 5 years specific experience in maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems, preferably in the offshore drilling industry.
o Prior extensive experience as a subsea engineer on drilling rigs, hydraulic technician on drilling rigs,
OEMs, or third-party SMEs is an advantage.
 Skills
o Proficiency in using computer-assisted maintenance (CAM) systems and Microsoft Office suite.
o Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
