Context and environment
• Strategic positioning: long-standing presence (since 1996), key gas growth hub + emerging renewables opportunities
• Complex stakeholder ecosystem: NOC dominance, diverging JV partner agendas, strong BP presence in-country
• Highly constrained Caspian environment: landlocked, limited offshore assets & subsea capacity, strong local content pressure, contractor ecosystem tied to SOCAR
• High compliance & reputation exposure in sensitive geopolitical context
• Major transformation challenge: operatorship shift + workforce stability + talent attrition (regional competition)
• Critical export dependency: Oil Rocks (AZNEFT/SOCAR) + BTC pipeline ( Condensate, 1,800 km / 1.2 Mbd, TTE shareholder with 5% capacity rights)+ SCP (for FFD gas export)
The Absheron Gas & Condensates field is located offshore Azerbaijan, in the Caspian Sea in 500 meters depth, ~100km southeast of Baku, 25km north-east of Shah Deniz field and 34km south of Oil Rocks production and processing facilities. One well is currently under production and the Full Field Development will add three more development wells, for an estimated production of 120 kboe/d.
Project: Fast Track Subsea Field project (3 wells, 1 semi-submersible rig, 2.4 years drilling) which is a key project for the Company (3,5 G$ CAPEX) with high producing gas well. Extremely complex well, well beyond standard subsea development, in a closed see environment, leading to additional constraints (limited competition due to landlock sea, with limited rig and supply vessel availability, strong local content requirement). Performance targets to deliver within budget beyond internal know-how.
