Description

Candidate able to work in France, French valid work permit required to apply

Missions / Role
Refer to the following general documents:
• Offshore Employer representative Scope of Services
• HSE Requirements for Offshore Contractors (Construction & O&M)-0171321-1.0

Detailed requirement:
One Geophysical client representative (experienced profile) is required onboard the vessel during the whole survey duration (provisional dates: end April to end June). Involvement of Client Rep in last day of mobilization (end of April / Start of May) is expected. Back-to-back rotations will be scheduled by Employer (Geophysical contractor will organize port calls every 2 weeks), therefore the Client representative can change every two weeks. Two client representatives are therefore required, working in back-to-back.
ERs shall organize their own transport to/from the (dis)embarkation port.

The ER is responsible to provide:
• his own Personal Protective Equipment according to HSE rules communicated by the Project.
• his own laptop and mobile phone.
Activities covered in the Package
Geophysical survey Client representation

Context and environment
The survey consists in a high-resolution geophysical survey offshore Normandy in 30m to 60m water depths, including multibeam bathymetry, side scan sonar, magnetometer, sub-bottom profiler and 2D Ultra High Resolution multichannel seismic (best settings to be determined by testing on site), with investigation target depth of 100m below seabed.
Aim is to fully characterize the site conditions in terms of seabed and sub-seabed hazards and detail the shallow stratigraphy for the ground model of the site.
Description of services
The purpose of the Client Representative services is to ensure that the data quality and QHSE procedures during the offshore surveys meet the EMPLOYER’s standards.
•Technical requirement
Preparation of works:
• Reception and familiarization with EMPLOYER survey specifications, scope of works, CONTRACTOR contract,
• Familiarization with specific survey aims,
• Reception and familiarization with CONTRACTOR’s preparation documents as Project Execution Plan & QHSE Plan.
Representation during positioning: Control the quality of CONTRACTOR positioning chain (equipment, onshore reference, offset and settings), organize necessary tests with the CONTRACTOR. Review and comment positioning procedures and reports.
Responsible onboard the vessel for the following tasks:
• Ensuring that the work is carried out by the CONTRACTOR in a suitable standard.
• Ensuring that the work is carried out by the CONTRACTOR as per the approved method statements and associated risk assessments.
• Ensuring that spares are present onboard the vessel, as per the survey requirement.
• Ensuring that the necessary equipment checks, calibrations and testing phase are carried out.
• Ensuring that the weather limits are properly monitored as contractually defined & that it is properly recorded in the contractor’s DPR.
• Adjusting survey line plan acquisition and phasing of work if any, depending on equipment operability limit and weather forecast during geophysical surveys.
• Ensuring quality control is performed by the CONTRACTOR on all data collected, and that the survey data quality is achieved.
• Ensuring data gaps in survey coverage are identified by CONTRACTOR and that infill lines are planned to achieve the coverage required in the scope of work.
• Ensuring onboard data processing is carried out as per the EMPLOYER requirements and scope of work.
• Reviewing field results and addressing comments to onboard CONTRACTOR’s technical lead.
• Sharing with EMPLOYER satisfaction / disappointment on the day-by-day performance of CONTRACTOR onboard crew.
• Following-up and updating onboard performed quantities, anticipating deviations.
• Assessing, reporting and declaring satisfactory completion of the scope of works at the end of the geophysical survey.
