MISSIONS / SERVICE DIMENSIONS
The service holder will be responsible for subsea system engineering activities and technical matters related to the Venus project, as part of the Venus SPS team. This will include but not be limited to reviewing, approving, preparing and managing all SPS System studies for a very deep-water oil greenfield project.
The Service Provider will be leading the system engineering activities, and be supporting the procurement, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning activities for SPS equipment.
The Service Provider will provide support to the SPS Technical Manager and the SPS team and liaise with other project teams (SURF).
ACTIVITIES
CONTEXT & ENVIRONMENT
The Venus field is an ultra-deepwater development (~3,000 m water depth), producing oil through subsea production systems tied back to an FPSO. The development includes multiple wells, subsea production systems, extensive SURF infrastructure, and complex tie-in connection activities requiring precise interface management between SPS, SURF, and FPSO systems.
International and multi-cultural environment with multiple Contractors and fabrication sites worldwide.
Position permanently based at SPS EPFS Contractor Main office
DURATION / LOCATION
•Starting date: October 2026 (subject to FID)
•Duration: 1.5 year minimum to 5 years
•Renewable: yes
•Location: MALAYSIA / Kuala Lumpur, at Contractor engineering center for Project execution
•Status: Residential
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
•Qualification: Master’s degree in engineering and strong experience in engineering for SPS Systems
•Languages: English
•Professional Experience: Recent and relevant experience with major SPS Contractor in delivering a deep water subsea system – including design, procurement, construction, installation and offshore hookup and commissioning of the subsea components. Strong experience in detailed engineering and execution phases (procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, pre-commissioning) related to SPS systems.
•Experience within project: at least 15 years in large offshore oil & gas subsea environment / projects.
•Additional features:
High awareness of safe working practices on subsea system construction.
Excellent communication skills. Excellent written skills.
Willing to travel as required for business both internal and overseas.
Ability to work with different disciplines and cultures in a complex and multicultural working environment.
Good knowledge of relevant codes, and preferably of TotalEnergies General Specifications, procedures and policies.

ACTIVITIES
- Provide high standard Services with regards to H3SE&Q so to implement and control H3SE rules and requirements within his area of responsibility. Ensure all technical documentation and SPS Contractor activities comply with H3SE&Q requirements and highlight any potential deviations. Ensure safe working practices are implemented along all phases of project.
- Provide high level support services to ensure compliance with the Company Ethics and “Code of Conduct” policy, promote and enforce the Anti-Corruption Program within the Project
- Ensure progress, fitness for purpose, and compliance with Company Rules and Specifications, Project requirements and international codes of all system engineering for SPS scope during all Project phases,
- Be responsible for all SPS system engineering activities and manage all related technical activities. Liaise with other package teams (SURF, FPSO, Drilling, etc) as necessary for interface matters.
- Ensure timely issuance, review, challenge, and approve SPS Contractor and Supplier engineering deliverables.
- Review and validate ROV access studies, intervention philosophies, and associated SPS schematics to ensure operability, accessibility, and fitness for purpose.
- Define, develop, issue and maintain all necessary technical documentation, reports, presentations related to the SPS Systems. Support and participate to the development and maintenance of Project Management main documents (SOR, FDP, PEP, PQP, Risks, etc.)
- Participate in Project Reviews, such as HAZID/HAZOP, Design Reviews, Constructability Reviews, etc
- Ensure that all engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, testing, qualification, pre-commissioning, and commissioning aspects are suitably addressed and validate the relevant documentation issued by Supplier(s) and Contractor(s) (technical documentation / queries / derogation requests),
- Provide guidance and input into Contractor strategies/procedures and specifications for design, procurement, construction, installation and offshore hookup and commissioning of the subsea components.
- Support to follow-up and supervise all testing and qualification activities (SWT, CDT, FAT, EFAT, SIT, etc), all installation preparation, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities performed by SPS Contractor, including the handover of equipment to other packages,
- Ensure all technical, QA/QC and H3SE project policies and requirements are duly implemented and ensure SPS Contractors’ compliance with contractual requirements in all areas. Anticipate and ensure adequate and timely reporting to the SPS Technical Manager of any concern, issue or potential deviation. Propose timely and adequate solutions and optimizations.
- Support the SPS Technical Manager and SPS Manager on technical, execution, and contractual matters and relations with Partners
- Gather ‘lessons learnt’ and provide feedback to TotalEnergies entities as required.
