    Job dimensions
    This position is a rotational position located in Mozambique LNG Camp, Afungi Peninsula, Mozambique with travel to other project sites (Maputo, Pemba, etc) as needed during rotation. The Lead Surveyor will work as part of the Mozambique LNG Geospatial team, reporting to the Geospatial Manager. Open to Local and Expat.

    Activities
    • Liaise with Project teams to identify all onshore and offshore positioning/survey activities and operations conducted by Project that require positioning techniques.
    • Technically manage bid evaluations, award recommendations and contract document preparation.
    • Issue survey elements for SimOps dossier or any other request from stakeholders.
    • Support positioning activities relative to these operations on behalf of Company (site surveys, rig moves, pipeline inspection, pre-lay, as-laid, as-built surveys, metrologies for both offshore and onshore).
    • Review Contractors specifications, procedures and method statements relative to positioning or survey activities and ensure their effective implementation.
    • Perform QA/QC of survey results and liaise with Geomatics Team for implementation in GIS system.
    • Support survey-grade drone operations at site by providing supervision and expertise in ground control, trajectory computation, bundle block adjustment and validating final products accuracy (3D model, orthophoto, DTM/DSM) .
    • Perform geodetic, topographic, GNSS calculations by use of appropriate survey software.
    • Support Project teams on ad-hoc requests by providing insights in topography, positioning and geodesy and any other geomatics related field and issue reports/memos documenting critical findings.
    • Define and implement a positioning data management policy based on Company standards to guarantee reliability and sustainability of the data.
    • Manage company-owned survey equipment including metrology interfaces and make recommendations for technological implementation in improving positioning accuracy at site.
    • Manage service company spending and ensure cost forecast are in accordance with budget.
    • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental rules during work and travel.

    Context and environment
    Mozambique LNG is emerging as a future leader in the global LNG industry as it works to develop an LNG facility on the Afungi peninsula in Cabo Delgado province. With approximately 75 trillion cubic feet of recoverable natural gas discovered in the Offshore Area 1, the Mozambique LNG Project represents an extraordinary opportunity to meet increasing world demand for a sustainable, reliable and cleaner source of energy.
    For this particular position:
    - Interface with various internal and external entities, local content.
    - Onshore based (rotation to Afungi Camp) with frequent interface with Company sites, as well as Contractor onshore and offshore sites.

    Accountabilities
    The scope of responsibility is as varied as marine or terrestrial site surveys, drilling installations, pipe-laying or underwater structure installations, underwater metrology. An error in the validation of coordinates may have significant financial impacts (several million Euros in the case of drilling for example) as well as consequences related to safety and the environment.

    Qualifications/Experience required
    Bachelor of Science required (Master of Science preferred) in Hydrography, Geodesy or Land Survey Required qualifications include:
    - Minimum of 10 years of experience in the technical domain (Land Survey, offshore survey including LBL, Sparse LBL, USBL, INS processing).
    - Minimum of 5 years of experience acting as Company Representative for positioning & survey activities (Rig Moves, Survey, Installation, Inspection, Metrologies).
    - Experience in manipulating commonly used CAD & positioning processing softwares (AutoCAD/Microstation/CIVIL3D, Novatel, Leica, RTKLib, Sonardyne Fusion, Kongsberg APOS, EIVA, SALSA, DelphINS).
    - Experience in aerial photogrammetry and LiDAR survey and processing.
    - Experience in GIS and remote sensing would be a plus (QGIS, ESRI suite, Global Mapper).
    - Good knowledge of Field Development Projects in Oil&Gas industry both Offshore and Onshore.
    -Fluent oral and written knowledge of English is required.
