Reporting to: Group Commercial Manager
Location: Chesterfield S45 9BQ

Office hours:
Monday – Thursday: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm, Friday: 9.00 am – 5.00 pm
Mainly site or head office based. Domestic and occasional international travel expected as the project require

Overview of the Role:
Primarily oversee the effective delivery of project management across the range of project to which you are assigned. Typically this includes acting as the project lead for the company from contract signing to contract delivery with a specific attention to detail and focus on scope delivery, compliance, operational and commercial performance. The individual will be able to demonstrate varying levels of experience in project management, contract management, negotiation of terms and conditions, subcontractor management, handling claims and disputes, monitoring and tracking cost and managing commercial performance.

Main Duties:
 Establish the Client’s brief and maintain a thorough understanding of the contract and the scope of work to be delivered
 Act as the focal point for the Client on all aspects of the Contractor service delivery (technical/operational, HSEQ and commercial) liaising with the various business units as necessary such as Operational, HSEQ, Contracts/Commercial, Procurement, Finance and Accounts and HR & Admin
 Oversee and manage contract delivery for the assigned projects ensuring contract compliance with respect to all aspects of the contract scope (including but not limited to; HSEQ, Operations, KPI reporting to Client etc) liaising with the various internal departments as necessary
 Monitor daily reports (drilling and HSEQ) coming from the field and maintain communication with Operations Managers, Rig Superintendents and Rig Managers such that you are aware of any and all significant new developments taking place
 Attend weekday morning call with Operations Manager, Rig Superintendents, Rig Managers and Group HSEQ Manager
 Attend and represent the Contractor at Client meetings
 Effectively manage and liaise with all third-party subcontractors (for example cementing, mud logging, mud engineering, directional drilling, wireline logging, catering and camp management services, manpower services etc) required specific to the scope of work, ensuring compliance with both the main contract and the subcontract terms. Monitor and approve subcontractor payments where applicable
 Oversee and ensure timely and accurate reporting is provided to the Client on behalf of the Contractor in line with contract requirements such as KPI reporting, Business Performance Reviews, Local Content reporting etc
 Produce Project Plans and Gantt Charts for submission to the Client with input from Operations for certain tasks such as upcoming rig moves, rig equipment upgrades etc
 Monitor all incoming and outgoing project related correspondence under your control and ensure this is effectively communicated to the applicable people within the business and actioned accordingly
 Ensure all invoicing is prepared and presented to the client in a timely fashion in line with contract requirements
 Monitor and track all spend with respect to the contract services, reporting on a regular basis
 Monitor and report on cost versus revenue generation (commercial performance) related to the contract on a regular basis
 Ensure sufficient controls are in place to capture all spend on the project and ensure that the spend approval process is being adhered to by all members of the project team liaising with Operations and Finance departments as necessary
 Undertake periodic analysis of the commercial performance of contracts under your control and report to the Group Commercial Manager any opportunities for maximising commercial output
 Monitor and record additional costs arising from alterations and amendments to the work (variations and change orders) supported by detailed records and where appropriate bring the same to the attention of the Group Commercial Manager to agree means for raising same with the client
 Ensure all pertinent and important contract and project related documentation is stored and organised on the company sharepoint system under Commercial. The Project Manager shall be responsible for the management and organisation of the folder for their allocated contracts
 To coordinate and manage bid proposals such as pre-qualifications, EOI, ITT and RFP and represent the Company in a business development capacity from time to time

Qualifications and experience required for this role:
 Preferably degree qualified in an engineering discipline
 Minimum of 10 years project management experience within industry
 Previous experience within the oil & gas, energy, mining or construction sector a distinct advantage
 Previous experience of contract management under a Crine Logic or IADC terms and conditions an advantage
 Strong numerical skills and commercial acumen a necessity
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills with presentation skills and report writing ability advantageous
