Job title Offshore Pipeline QC Lead
Situation in organization N+1 : Offshore Installation Manager N+2 : Upstream Quality Manager
Job dimensions The Offshore Pipeline (Contractor DW reel-lay vessel) QC Lead will drive the Quality Culture, Performance Monitoring, covering quality indicator/KPI reporting, quality data management and lessons learnt capitalization across the offshore Installation campaign. During the installation phase of MZ LNG project, Offshore Pipeline QC Lead will assist the Installation Manager with technical appraisal and supervision of the pipelay campaign operations, interacting with the inspectors. The scope of work will particularly focus on the installation of the 22” pipe and referring to all quality issues on board of the vessel.
Activities
  • Leading the quality inspectors on board of the vessel
  • Develop and implement (when required) the Procedures and Inspection Test Plan (ITP) to ensure Technical Integrity, Quality, and
  • Ensure that Engineering issues are fully addressed in accordance with the Specifications, relevant Project Codes and Standards, classification rules and regulation.
  • Conduct and support the Upstream Quality Manager during surveillance audits and inspections for Integrity Assurance and Contract Compliance.
  • Review the final documentation and quality records required to produce the Dispatch Dossier (if required) and Manufacturing Record Book (MRB)
  • Providing a Quality weekly report
  • Participating to the Quality weekly meeting
  • Raise, monitor, support Upstream Quality Manager to close NCRs ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Supporting on punch list identification
  • Contribute to lesson learned of the project and ensure their implementation.
Context and environment
  • US $20 Billion investment, 17,000-acre LNG facility site that includes private airstrip, marine facilities, and 18 subsea wells - 5-year construction period, utilizing a staff of 1500+ employees and contractors based in Houston, Milan, Paris, Singapore and Mozambique
  • Mozambique LNG is a subsea (1,400m) to shore dry gas field development located in the norther part of Mozambique with 12.88 MTPA from 2 Initial Trains - 25-year production period
  • The subsea field will be developed via 18 subsea wells, 7-production manifolds, 1-MEG manifold, 3 x 22in trunk lines, a 6in and 8in MEG lines, 18 x 10in in-field flowlines, 2 x 4in in-field MEG lines, associated ILTs and PLETs for all pipelines, 25 control modules, 4 onshore umbilical, 2 main tie-back umbilical, 5 in-field umbilical, 12 UTA assemblies, 189 electro hydraulic flying leads, 48 x 10” flexible jumpers, rigid jumpers and spools.
Accountabilities
  • Interacting with other disciplines on board of the vessel for the safe and on-time execution of the work to delivery fit for purpose pipeline
  • Own the Project Performance Monitoring, including KPI dashboards , Lessons Learned register and feedback loop to TotalEnergies HQ.
  • Ensure that Contractor activities are following Project Standard and Specification
Qualifications/Experience required
  • Degree in Engineering or another relevant subject required with either an advanced degree or professional qualifications preferred.
  • 20 years in the field of Oil & Gas and minimum 10 years as a Leader quality assurance
  • Ability to work well in high-stress, fast paced environment with others in an international and multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to multi-task and work as part of small and flexible team and manage interfaces between multiple contractors.
  • Onboard vessel experience in offshore installation contractors.
  • Fluency in the English language. Current BOSIET and OGUK Medical certification prior to mobilizing offshore.
